Job summary

New Communities is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care to adults with intellectual disabilities at our Lewiston, ME residential program. You will model positive behavior, assist with daily living tasks, and support clients in the community, including transportation using company vehicles.

The role offers full-time hours with pay rates ranging from $15.10 to $16.75 per hour, and includes benefits such as health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, tuition

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to be a dependable role model for clients.
• Willingness to be trained and certified for direct care tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Administer medication as assigned by supervisors.
• Assist with personal care and promote client independence.
• Encourage participation in recreational and social activities using company transportation.
• Be a positive, supportive presence for residents and coworkers.
