Job summary

Work Training Center is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in Chico, CA for a part-time role supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will help participants achieve goals, gain independence, and engage in daily activities.

You’ll lead 1:1 or group activities, assist with ISPs, coordinate transportation, and maintain progress notes. Bilingual skills and a CA driver’s license are valued; evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience & Skills: training or experience in human services is helpful, but kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn are most important.
• Tech-Savvy: comfortable using simple software to track progress and stay organized.
• Education: Associate's degree or higher preferred, though not required.
• Language Skills: bilingual skills are highly appreciated.
• Adventure-Ready: willing to work evenings and weekends, with a CA driver’s license.
• Qualifications: must be 18+ and pass background check, drug screening, and First Aid/CPR (within two months).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support, leading individuals in 1:1 or group activities that encourage growth and engagement.
• Be a positive role model, celebrate milestones and encourage appropriate behaviors and emotions.
• Assist with creating and implementing ISPs tailored to each participant’s goals and needs.
• Help participants enjoy meaningful activities from creative projects to life-skills workshops.
• Maintain accurate records, complete daily case notes, and update progress.
• Coordinate and provide transportation to ensure access to programs and activities.
• Work closely with a supportive team to create a positive environment.
