Job summary

Progressive Directions, Inc. (PDI) is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time role in Indian Mound, TN. The position offers $16.00 per hour and 35–45 hours per week, with a Sunday–Tuesday schedule and every other Saturday 8:00 AM–8:00 PM.

The DSP will assist people supported with daily living activities, follow ISP plans, administer medications, and promote independence, inclusion, and dignity in residential settings. Training, benefits, and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• PHS and Therap experience preferred, but not required
• Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license
• Satisfactory criminal background check (required)
• Negative drug test (required)
• Clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) (required)
• Ability to attend and pass all required training (required)
• TB test within the last 12 months (provided if needed upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Assist persons supported with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Support with meal prep, grocery shopping, and household tasks
• Administer medications per agency policy
• Follow the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and document daily progress
• Encourage community participation and meaningful daily choices
• Attend appointments, outings, and coordinate activities
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Help plan and facilitate activities based on personal interests
• Support community outings, family visits, and local events
• Encourage active engagement in the community
• Maintain daily notes, behavior data, and medication logs
• Communicate updates and concerns to the Residential Manager and team
