Job summary

Chimes Metro, Inc. in Newark, NJ seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges to live with dignity and independence.

You will provide hands-on support, follow care plans, and document progress in a respectful, client-centered environment. This role offers paid training, ongoing professional development, and a pathway for growth within a mission-driven nonprofit focused on compassion and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Disability services experience preferred, but training is provided.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; driving history must meet policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with kindness and respect.
• Assist with personal care including dressing, toileting, hygiene, feeding, bathing.
• Follow individualized care plans and document progress.
• Administer medications in accordance with policy.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Use approved behavior support techniques.
• Encourage community engagement and participation.
• Some DSP roles may require travel between Residential and Day programs.

Skills

Lift/Transfer up to 50 lbs

Valid U.S. driver's license
