Job summary

Independent Beginnings in Mount Vernon, OH seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living, community activities, and personal care, while promoting independence in a supportive, respectful environment.

We offer paid training, flexible day/evening/night shifts, weekly pay, PTO after 90 days, 401(k) with company match, and health-insurance allowance. No experience required—training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to communicate in English (spoken and written).
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
• CPR/First Aid certification provided if not currently certified.
• Medication Administration certification provided if not currently certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
• Encourage independence and community involvement.
• Transport assistance to appointments if needed (mileage reimbursement).
