Hope Haven, Inc. in Spirit Lake, IA, is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities. You’ll support daily living needs, safety, and community participation, following individualized plans.

The position offers a daytime schedule, structured duties, and benefits designed to support employees and clients alike, including health coverage and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in decisions.
• Must pass required medication administration course.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass health assessment at hire and maintain health checks.
• Clearance from background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to meet physical, mental, emotional, and social needs.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, toileting, escort, meals, and transitions.
• Teach self‑control and self‑management per training.
• Complete client logs and shift notes within 24 hours with supervisor approval.
• Help develop and implement daily activity schedules tailored to individuals.
• Arrange appointments and transportation with proper documentation.
• Promote safety and follow all safety procedures.
