Job summary

The Arc Mid Hudson is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support and skills training to residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and in the community. Kelly house offers a tranquil setting and engaging activities, with supervision of ADLs as needed while focusing on enhancing skills, independence, and personal interests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Post-high-school education in Human Services is a plus.
• Must have NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
• Training will include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and skills training to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in residential and community settings.
• Assist with ADLs supervision as needed while promoting independence.
• Support residents in pursuing skills, interests, and community activities.

Direct Support Professional - Kelly - On Call - As Needed

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

Kelly house sits on beautiful property that houses a babbling brook, a garden waiting to be put to good use, and is called home by twelve gentlemen of various ages. We are extremely close to a shopping area which the gentlemen love to patronize. The residents enjoy Xbox, Wii, shopping, going out to eat, and visiting various establishments of interest. Some supervision of ADLs is needed but most are independent in many areas of life skills. Would you be interested in joining them to enhance their skills, independence, and even areas of interest?

A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.

HOURS: On Call- As Needed

Starting Salary: $19.44- $21.39per hour with additional differentials as application
