Job summary

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join the CREATE Employment Services team. You will provide employment-related support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the community and supervise small teams with contracted service requirements.

Responsibilities include on-the-job instruction, employer collaboration, job-search support, and multi-agency planning.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current Driver's License.
• Use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job instruction and mentorship in the community.
• Supervise 2-3 person teams for local contracts.
• Consult with employers to identify training needs.
• Assist individuals with job searches and employer outreach.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings to plan accommodations.
• Maintain flexibility and composure in solo or team settings.
• Complete mandated competency modules per North Dakota DD Division.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for candidates to join our CREATE Employment Services team as Direct Support Professionals. The Direct Support Professional (DS) in this program is responsible for providing employment-related support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Providing individualized on-the-job instruction and mentorship to individuals working in the community.
• Supervising 2-3 person teams fulfilling contracted service requirements for local businesses.
• Consulting with employers to identify training needs to improve the individual's performance.
• Assist individuals with job searches and engage with employers to secure opportunities for potential job placement.
• Participate in multi-agency team meetings to evaluate, assess, and recommend accommodations for the individual to attain/retain employment.
• Maintaining flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment
• Completing the competency-based modules as dictated by the North Dakota Department of Human Service, Developmental Disabilities Division.

Other duties not listed above may be assigned.

Preferred:

Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental health or other related field.
