Job summary

The Fargo Vocational Training Center (VTC) in Fargo, ND is seeking a Direct Support Professional (Job Coach) to provide employment-related support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities include on-the-job instruction, supervising small teams, and collaborating with employers to identify training needs and job opportunities. A driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current Driver's License is required.
• Use of personal vehicle - mileage reimbursement provided.
• Preferred: prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental health or other related field.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized on-the-job instruction and mentorship to individuals working in the community.
• Supervising 2-3 person teams fulfilling contracted service requirements for local businesses.
• Consulting with employers to identify training needs to improve the individual's performance.
• Assist individuals with job searches and engage with employers to secure opportunities for potential job placement.
• Participate in multi-agency team meetings to evaluate, assess, and recommend accommodations for the individual to attain/retain employment.
• Maintaining flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment.
• Complete Certificate with ND Direct Care Careers.

Shifts - Shifts are available 7 days a week between the hours of 7 am to 10 pm

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for candidates to join our CREATE Employment Services team as Direct Support Professionals. The Direct Support Professional (DS) in this program is responsible for providing employment-related support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Providing individualized on-the-job instruction and mentorship to individuals working in the community.
• Supervising 2-3 person teams fulfilling contracted service requirements for local businesses.
• Consulting with employers to identify training needs to improve the individual's performance.
