Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Age 18 or older as required by the State of Nevada
• English language proficiency for client and colleague communication
• Professional demeanor at all times
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse individuals
• Background check must be passed as required by Nevada state law
• Health care experience is a plus but not required
• Driver's license and auto insurance are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (mobility, transfers, hygiene, dressing)
• Provide functional skills training (cooking, shopping, cleaning)
• Provide cognitive skills training (memory, speech and language reinforcement)
• Monitor client activities at the site
• Maintain accurate charting/documentation

Direct Support Professional position overview and responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living - mobility, transfers, hygiene, dressing and related areas.
• Provide functional skills training - assistance / instruction in cooking, shopping, cleaning
• Offer cognitive skills training - memory training, reinforcing speech and language
• Monitor client activities at the site
• Maintain accurate charting/documentation

Direct Support Professional Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, and a minimum age of 18 (as required by the State of Nevada).
• Read, write, hear, understand, and speak English to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals
• Must be able to pass a background check as required by the state of Nevada
• Previous health care experience a plus but not required
• A valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance a plus.
