Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in North Haven, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will assist with daily activities, household tasks, meals, and recreational and learning activities while advocating for each person's needs.

Ideal candidates have experience with disabilities, good communication, basic computer skills (Therap a plus), and a valid driver's license with 3 years driving.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills; Therap a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy, enthusiasm, and dedication to helping others.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support with daily activities in a residential setting.
• Assist with household chores, meal preparation, recreation, and learning activities.
• Support physical fitness activities and individual engagement.
• Represent the needs and interests of individuals served and input on program planning.
