Job summary

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services in New York seeks a Direct Support Professional II to provide person-centered supports in a residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will work full-time in a team, ensuring a trauma-informed, respectful living environment.

Requires AMAP certification for DSP II, a NYS driver’s license, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• NY State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• AMAP Certification required for DSP II.
• At least one year of practical experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to individuals in a residential setting.
• Provide direct personal assistance as needed and support health and wellness needs.
• Schedule and accompany individuals to medical appointments and document information.
• Assist with meal planning, shopping, and daily living activities.
• Communicate effectively with staff and ensure safety and crisis procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratios.
