Job summary

Resources for Human Development is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Raleigh, NC to help individuals experiencing homelessness with safety, supervision, and daily living activities in community-based sites.

You will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residential interventions, and assist clients in achieving their goals while promoting dignity, respect, and independence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Basic computer and internet literacy with ability to use emails, time recording and data entry.
• Valid driver’s license; FBI clearance if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of individuals in alignment with the ISP and support plans.
• Complete required documentation.
• Administer medication as directed.
• Provide transportation to clients.
• Support daily living activities, meal prep, hygiene, and mobility.
• Assist with community integration and access to services including medical appointments.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

What You’ll Do

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for safety and supervision of our consumers facing homelessness to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client’s program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, in both the home and the community. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed. In this role, you will:

• Provide supervision of individuals in accordance with the person-centered ISP; supporting someone to work towards outcomes identified in ISP and other Person-Centered Support Plans
• Complete required documentation
• Administer Medication
• Provide transportation to consumers
• Support consumers in activities of daily living, meal prep, toileting, hygiene, as appropriate
• Assist in Community Integration Activities and access to community Supports including medical appointments, social security access, etc.
• Complete all other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or GED is required, associates or bachelor’s degree is preferred
