Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support per each individual's ISP and person-centered support plan.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and identified outcomes.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer medications in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, community activities, and other necessary destinations.
• Support individuals with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, toileting, household tasks, and other individualized support needs.
• Assist individuals with community integration and access to resources, including medical appointments, social services, recreational activities, and community-based supports.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and positive social interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides supervision, care, and support to individuals with mental health disabilities and behavioral health histories in community-based residential settings. This role focuses on promoting independence, encouraging healthy behaviors, and assisting individuals in achieving the goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and other person-centered support plans.

The DSP partners with clinical teams, implements residential interventions, assists with daily living activities, and supports community integration while upholding RHD’s mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual's ISP and person-centered support plan.
• Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and identified outcomes.

Qualifications Required

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background and employment screenings, including FBI clearance where applicable.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Previous experience in mental health, behavioral health, residential services, or human services environments.
