Job summary

Apis Services, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the RHD – Missouri Day Program. This full-time role provides person-centered support to individuals, supports development of outcomes, and documents progress in daily logs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificate.
• 3-year clean motor vehicle record and valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Participate in circles of support to assist with development and implementation of agreed outcomes.
• Document Person Served progress in daily participation logs.
• Complete all State and agency-related training and implement training goals.
• Maintain accurate account of each Person Served progress on all ISP goals.
• Ensure Person Served with daily living skills protected from harm.
• Attend all scheduled staff and agency meetings and training for recertification.
• Complete orientation to pass all State and agency requirements for training at 80% and all future training assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain a current driver’s license, class D, and provide documentation of vehicle maintenance and insurance.
• Transport Person Served to scheduled activities and supervise vehicle use.
• Assist with maintenance and care of home, supplies, and equipment, including vehicle log.
• Dispense routine oral medication as prescribed per agency policies.
• Complete required incident reports and notify family/guardians and ISC of any incidents.
• Make accurate entries in the daily log to ensure 24-hour logs are present and accurate.
• Ensure passengers and self are safely secured in seat belts before moving vans or other vehicles.
• Report for duty at scheduled time, utilize time and attendance system.
• Go off duty when appropriately relieved.
• Account for whereabouts of all Persons Served during on-duty hours.
• Demonstrate respect for all agency Persons Served, families, neighbors, and co-workers.
• Report and document staff injuries within 24-hours.
• Know agency on-call procedures for emergencies after office hours.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, feeding, grooming, etc.)
• Prepare well-balanced meals per approved meal plan.
• Assist Program Specialist with quality inspections of facility to ensure compliance.
• Assist Person Served with preparation of belongings for travel.
• Document Person Served expenses via cash expenditure envelope and forward receipts to Financial Case Manager.
