Cadient, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community at Foggintown, Brewster, NY.

The DSP role focuses on assisting with daily living tasks, personal hygiene, and helping residents pursue life-long goals. An on-call, as-needed schedule applies, with starting pay of $19.74-$21.72 per hour and eligibility for shift differentials.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is desired.
• Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus.
• An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must.
• Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.

Responsibilities

• The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.
• Assist with daily living tasks and personal hygiene as needed.
• Support individuals to develop life skills and independence.
• Monitor safety and well-being and report changes as appropriate.

Foggintown is an 11-bed residence set back from the road in a quiet residential neighborhood in Brewster, NY. We are conveniently located near walking trails, restaurants, and shopping areas. The individuals who live here are a mixed group of young adults and older folks who enjoy a combination of quiet relaxation and laid-back outings. Each has a unique personality and their own way of communicating and forming relationships. Most have lived together for many years and feel like a family, but they welcome new, friendly faces. They enjoy personal attention and many benefit from hands-on assistance with personal hygiene and daily living skills. Foggintown is a great place to work if you enjoy helping people with different abilities.
