Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Ocean City, NJ. DSPs assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Starting pay ranges from $23/hour (non-acuity) to $33/hour (acuity), plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid after averaging 20+ hours/week in installments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills.
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed.
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development.
