Job summary

At Peace Health Care Agency is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Mifflinburg, PA to empower individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

You will deliver person-centered care, support daily living activities, and advocate for independence while ensuring safety and dignity in every interaction. Prior DSP experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of behavioral support plans (BSPs) and home care practices.
• Ability to assist individuals with mobility and personal care needs.
• Proficient in goal tracking and implementing individualized support strategies.
• Solid understanding of individual rights, person-centered advocacy, and HIPAA compliance.
• Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility
• Foster independence and community involvement for individuals with disabilities
• Implement and adapt individualized care plans and behavioral strategies (BSP)
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment that protects individual rights and well-being
• Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other diverse needs
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
• Provide transportation and accompany individuals to medical, therapy, and community appointments
