Job summary

Ameriwell Care is actively hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities across New Jersey.

You’ll work closely with each individual in their home and out in the community, following personalized service plans to ensure care is delivered safely and respectfully in line with New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities guidelines.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
• Be open to CPR and First Aid training if not certified
• Have dependable transportation to travel to assigned cases
• Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and compassion when helping individuals
• Experience in supporting others is welcome, but not required—we’re willing to train the right person

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support services in home and community settings, tailored to each individual’s needs
• Assist individuals in building and maintaining everyday life skills such as cooking, personal care, organization, and structured routines
• Facilitate participation in community activities, including social outings, errands, and scheduled appointments
• Promote personal growth by encouraging independence, confidence, and meaningful social interaction
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment by providing supervision at all times
• Complete accurate service documentation using electronic systems (HHA Exchange) in line with NJ DDD requirements
• Collaborate with families, supervisors, and the care team to ensure high-quality support
