Job summary

Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide compassionate caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Asheville/Hendersonville. As a DSP, you’ll assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

The role offers growth opportunities in a mission-driven company with paid onboarding and training. Starting pay ranges from $16.00–$18.00 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus, paid over 1 year, and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
