Job summary

The South Dakota Developmental Center is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with an interdisciplinary treatment team to carry out therapeutic disciplines and training. This role aims to help each person served develop to their fullest potential through life skills, academic, and work skill guidance.

This is a 0.9 nearly full-time position with three 12-hour shifts per week, offering a 10% pay premium over standard hours and shift differentials on Fridays, Mondays, Saturdays and

Qualifications

• Experience with teaching plans for people with developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of facility routines and basic health care.
• Understanding safety procedures and practices.
• Ability to observe and report behavior and responses to treatment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out training and therapy programs for individuals served.
• Carry out procedures of teaching or treatment plans.
• Provide life skills, academic and work skills guidance.
• Lead staff and give work direction to support people with developmental disabilities.
• Prepare routine reports and maintain good working relationships with staff and persons served.
• Observe and report individuals' behavior and other responses to treatment.
