Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help adults with developmental disabilities live independently and with dignity. The DSP provides patient care, supports daily routines, and builds meaningful relationships.

The role requires overnight hours Mon-Thu 11 PM–9 AM, a willingness to drive, lift up to 75 pounds, and completion of a Medication Technician Training Program or willingness to complete.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Cook nutritious meals and assist with daily routines with dignity and independence.
• Provide personal care, preserving dignity and choice.
• Be patient, respectful, and build real connections with individuals.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and support confidence-building.
• Maintain clear, respectful records for continuity of care.

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.

Work Schedule

Monday to Thursday 11 PM - 9 AM

A Day In The Life

You’ll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy:

• Doing puzzles
• Going to the Park and walking trails
• Doing Arts and Crafts
• Going to the movies
• Going Shopping

How You’ll Support

• Help by cooking nutritional meals
• Support with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and choice.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speaking
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)
