Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in Crafton, PA. The role offers Evening, Overnight and Weekend shifts with pay rates starting at $17.00 per hour, and an enhanced pay option up to $19.00 per hour.

The DSP will supervise and support residents with daily living activities, document progress, and participate in the interdisciplinary team to promote development and safety in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct and implement functional assessments.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to prepare necessary reports and recording of residents' program progress.
• Ability to plan and supervise social, recreational, work and study activities for residents.
• Ability to maintain records with accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to maintain safe living environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, instructs or assists the residents in activities of daily living.
• Provides individualized care under professional direction.
• Transports and/or accompanies residents to activities in the community.
• Participates in staff meetings as integral member of the residents' interdisciplinary team.
• Promotes a positive self-image and residents' individualized development.
• Insures the safety of the residents is maintained at all times.
