Job summary

SAILS Washington is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Everett area team. You will provide person-centered support to participants, assist with daily living activities, and help with community integration and transportation as needed.

Candidates must be at least 18, have a valid Washington driver's license, and be willing to complete Nurse Assistant Registered training and the Nurse Delegation study.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum Experience: Personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities with challenging behaviors strongly preferred.
• Minimum Driving Experience: Must have a valid in-state driver's license and be able to provide current car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to program participants that meets their needs, provides opportunities for community integration, including swimming, and creates a nurturing, safe, and healthful living environment.
• Must be familiar with the Residential Service Guidelines issued by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
• Provides each participant with an array of instruction and support services, as described in the participants' Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP).
• Ensures that the daily needs of the participants are met, including personal hygiene, food preparation, house cleaning, shopping, and monitoring of health needs, including supervision of medication.
• Assists participants with regularly accessing the community to take part in a variety of outings of the participants' choosing. This may require transporting participants or arranging for transportation.
• Must enroll and complete the Nurse Delegation study course and take test within 30 days of employment.
