Job summary

SAILS Washington seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities, including hygiene, meals and community outings.

You will support participants per their IISP, monitor health needs and help with transportation to activities, while complying with guidelines and safety standards. Training leading to Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid in-state driver’s license and be able to provide current car insurance.
• Must be able to read, write and understand documents in English.
• Will become Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) and complete Nurse Delegation study course within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists adults with developmental disabilities in daily life, including dietary, hygiene, grooming and dressing needs.
• Provides instruction and support per the Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP).
• Ensures daily needs are met, including health monitoring and medication supervision, and facilitates community integration.
