Job summary

Whole Life, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Professionals for a Norwich, CT location on a 90-day temporary assignment with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role focuses on assisting individuals with daily living activities, administering medications, and promoting independence within a compassionate team.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 100 lbs, and pass required background and health screenings. Benefits are available and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Proof of High School diploma, transcripts, or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Ability to pass a Background Check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check. Post-hire, employees must pass a Fit for Duty physical and TB test within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and walk for the majority of your shift. Some positions require up to 100lbs lifting.
• Must document care in English and communicate clearly with clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations and implement care plans.
