Job summary

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems seeks a Residential Assistant to provide support, personal care, training, and quality care for individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community group home. Reports to the Division Manager of Residential Services and House Manager supervision. Pay rate is $17.50/hour.

Education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required. Clearances include PA Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint history; renewal and compliance are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Must obtain PA Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal history clearances; not on Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.

Responsibilities

• Assist persons served in reaching their goals of becoming more independent.
• Act as a positive role model for persons served.
• Provide guidance, instruction, coaching, and support per individual plans.
• Engage individuals in beneficial programs and activities.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and outings.
• Directly assist with personal care as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and routine homemaking duties.
• Ensure safety of the person served including medical/medication needs.
• Apply approved behavior plans and intervention strategies as needed.
• Complete records and reports per Agency policy.
