Job summary

Waypoint in Sanford, Maine is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support residents with intellectual and other disabilities in a safe, respectful environment. You will help with daily living activities, teach skills, promote self-determination, and ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere within homes and programs.

This role requires teamwork, adherence to treatment plans, medication safety, and data updates while working across residential settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop rapport with residents and maintain a safe, supportive relationship.
• Provide guidance during skills-building activities and implement treatment plans.
• Support daily living activities including meals, hygiene, and environment upkeep.
• Mentor healthy eating, fitness, and wellness choices.
• Transport residents to activities/appointments in approved vehicles.
• Adhere to safety procedures, privacy, and confidentiality; report safety concerns.
