Job summary

The Summit Center is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support adults with developmental disabilities in a community-based day program in Williamsville, Amherst, or East Amherst, NY. The role involves providing recreation, life skills training, and promoting independence within a collaborative team environment.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 40 hours per week. A NYS Driver’s License is required; Dayhab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of professional experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Dayhab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports adults with developmental disabilities in a community-based day program, providing recreation and life skills training to promote independence.
• Follows through on behavior management programs as established for individuals.
• Completes and maintains accurate documentation relating to the services provided and the individuals' progress.
• Communicates individual needs to the Family Support Services Coordinator.
• Able to work flexible hours to accommodate recreation outings and activities.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs.
• Maintains confidentiality of information in line with NYS Mental Hygiene law and HIPAA policies.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
