Job summary

Hope Network is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Michigan to help individuals build independence and participate in the community. You will support daily living activities, monitor safety, and assist with health and wellness goals.

Strong communication, empathy, reliability, and teamwork are essential for success. The role involves shift work, including weekends and holidays, with a focus on person-centered care and community integration.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license is required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and assist with mobility.
• Be willing to become CPR/First Aid certified.
• Commitment to scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety 24/7 and conduct 15- or 30-minute checks as needed.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.
• Establish trust and communicate respectfully with individuals served and families.
• Foster partnership with individuals served, the community, and professionals.
• Help develop problem-solving, communication, and independence skills.
• Assist individuals with social and leisure activities and daily living tasks.
• Monitor vitals and relay information to the care team.
• Attend medical appointments and document plans and updates accurately.
• Facilitate community participation and employment or educational goals.
