Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in Columbia, SC to provide personalized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those facing mental health or substance use challenges.

You will assist individuals in expressing needs, implement person-centered plans, and promote independence and self-advocacy, under supervision and established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion and patience in person-centered support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to foster independence while providing necessary support.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
• Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work and social activities.
• Teach and support independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
• Provide transportation for appointments and community activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of provided services and support.
