Skills of Central PA, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in central Pennsylvania. This part-time role includes helping with daily living activities, managing personal care, and facilitating community participation.

Responsibilities

• Utilize person-centered Individual Support Plans to assess and support a person’s needs.
• Assist individuals with disabilities with daily living, independence skills, and personal care (e.g., grooming, bathing, feeding, cooking, cleaning).
• Accompany individuals to and from appointments and community activities.
• Help people foster meaningful relationships within the community.
• Administer medication after thorough training.
• Complete appropriate documentation.

NOTE

We do not currently have any full-time positions open in the Williamsport area.

Hours

We have PART-TIME positions open, 8-hour standard shifts (1st, 2nd shift and 3rd shift) with a weekend rotation and holiday rotation. Extra hours may be available.

• You need to have “heart”. The people we support are vulnerable, so treating them with kindness, compassion, and respect is a must, not an option.
• You need to be willing to advocate. The people we support sometimes have difficulty speaking for themselves, so you need to learn about their needs and support them.
• You need to be a mentor. Lots of our day‑to‑day work involves training and teaching people the skills they need to succeed. You’ll have to be patient and dedicated to their progress.

Requirements

You do Not Need Prior Experience Or a College Degree To Become a Direct Support Professional. In Fact, We’ll Provide All Of The Training And Certification You Need To Be Successful. There Are a Few Simple Requirements You’ll Need For The Position:

• 18 years of age or older
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Eligible to work in the United States

Salary Description

$18.00-$22.05/hr
