Skills of Central PA, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work in our residential group homes in Cumberland County, including Carlisle and Mechanicsburg. The role offers part-time shifts with evenings and weekend rotations.

DSPs support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing daily living assistance, transportation, and community engagement. The position emphasizes person-centered care, documenting daily progress, and delivering compassionate

Qualifications

18 years of age or older.
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Use person-centered thinking to understand the wants and needs of the people you support.
Support people with daily living needs and personal care.
Administer medication after training and certification.
Complete documentation daily (computer usage).
Plan events and activities based on people’s interests.
Drive to community activities and appointments; driver training provided.

Skills of Central PA (Skills) provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health challenges throughout central Pennsylvania. We have full-time and part-time position on various shifts available in Cumberland County including Carlisle and Mechanicsburg to discuss with you! We do not currently have full-time, overnight, positions open. All overnight positions are part-time position.

Our Full-Time Opening Are:

Mechanicsburg: Evening Position (2p-10p) w/ weekend rotation
Mechanicsburg: Evening Position (3p-11p) w/ weekend rotation
Carlisle: Daylight/Evening Position (works four days per week: One 12-hr day 6a-6p/7a-7p and two 10-hr shifts 6a-4p/9a-7p and the weekend rotation is 6a-2p)
Carlisle: Daylight/Evening Position (11a-7p) w/ weekend rotation

About The Job

Skills is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work in our residential group homes. DSPs are the key to the services we provide people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The job is challenging and rewarding. As a DSP you will:

Use person-centered thinking to thoroughly understand the wants and needs of the people you support and what is important to/for them.
Support people with their daily living needs, independence skills, and personal care (e.g., grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
Administer medication(s), after you receive thorough training and certification.
Complete documentation, daily as required (must be able to use a computer).
Plan parties, games, crafts, outings, and other activities based on the interests of people you support.
Drive people to and from fun community activities and appointments (this may include driving a van or larger; driver training is provided).
Help the people you support build meaningful relationships in their communities and become a part of their support system at home.
