Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Norfolk

Location: Norfolk, NE, US.

Full‑time position.

Salary Range: $16.50 to $18.00 per hour.

Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our team and provide support to the individuals we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver in Norfolk, NE.

What You’ll Do: Work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. As a DSP you will assist individuals with day‑to‑day living activities and developing skills in a home environment and in community settings.

Hours:

• Full‑time hours available.
• Days and evenings available with every other weekend required.
• PRN weekends also needed.
• Days: 7 a – 3 p.
• Evenings: 3 p – 11 p.
• Every other weekend required.

Skillset Needed for the Job: Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals. Understand the importance of documentation.

Personality Traits: Empathy, Patience, Understanding, Compassion, Adaptable, Respectful, Dependable, Sound Judgment.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must be able to pass all background checks. Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Experience not required – we will train you!

Pay: Pay range is $16.50 to $18 an hour. We pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license. Incentives also available. NEW! We now offer for CNAs to earn CEUs while working as a DSP (thanks to the Nebraska CNA bill we helped champion!).
