Qualifications

  • 6 months experience with developmental disabilities required.
  • Preferred qualifications include NAR, HCA, or CNA certifications.

Job description

Job Description

  1. Planning outings and activities, personal care, and hygiene tasks.
  2. Monitor health needs, including medications and special diets; notify supervisor of any outstanding needs.
  3. Home care, shopping, and meal preparation.
  4. Setting goals and learning new skills and hobbies.
  5. Assist in developing positive behavior supports by providing feedback about individual preferences.
  6. Participate in the formulation and implementation of individual treatment plans, including data collection, report-writing, participation in treatment team meetings, and carrying out treatment team recommendations.
  7. Provide lift and transfer assistance (may include non-ambulatory individuals) requiring the ability to carry and maneuver up to 50 or more pounds of unbalanced weight.
  8. Building healthy habits and relationships.
  9. Supporting positive behavior and boundaries.
  10. Maintaining well-being and safety by following plans and reporting guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. 6 months of experience working with people who have developmental disabilities.
  2. Experience using de-escalation techniques (preferred).
  3. Willing to be actively engaged and creative with ideas for outings and engagement in the home.
  4. Experience working as RBT or paraeducator (preferred).
  5. Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
  6. 18 years or older.
  7. Preferred NAR, HCA, Nurse Delegation, CNA, NAC.
