Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Memphis, TN Area $15.37 an hour - Immediate Full-time 2nd Shift - Part-time - and PRN positions available.

Purpose of the Direct Support Professional:

The primary purpose of the Direct Support Professional is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need support to lead a safe, self-directed life to participate fully in their communities.

To assist individuals with intellectual disabilities (mild to severe) in leading a self-directed life and contribute to the community. To aid in assisting with activities of daily living if needed, and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide support at home, work, and other community places.

Direct Support Professional Skills:

The job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is a very significant one. It is important to have compassion, creativity, and integrity when supporting our individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A DSP will assist a person with developmental disabilities to have a meaningful, safe and self-directed life. Skills needed include the following but are not limited to:

  • Provide quality care of individuals in their home
  • Ensure supports and services are person-centered
  • Provide dietary options for individuals daily
  • Promote physical health and emotional well-being
  • Provide responsible and accountable financial management
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Drive individuals to appointments, school, work, and community-based activities
  • Support individuals to form and maintain relationships
  • Document daily reports electronically

Capitol City Residential Healthcare is currently seeking Direct Support Staff for the following shifts:

Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm | 4pm-12pm | 12pm-8am and every other weekend 8am-8pm | 8pm-8am

Part Time: Saturday & Sunday 8am-8pm | 8pm-8am or as scheduled

PRN: TBD offered by management
