Essential Services LLC is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at home and in the community. The role emphasizes daily living support, goal implementation, and fostering growth and independence in a mission-driven team.

Compensation starts at $22–$24.50 per hour, with total pay potential over $27–$28 per hour including employer-paid benefits and retirement match.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior DSP or caregiving experience preferred.
• Comfortable assisting individuals with high behavioral needs.
• Weekend availability required.
• Own reliable transportation for client transport.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance (100k/300k liability).
• Smartphone with access for documentation.
• Able to pass DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while promoting independence.
• Execute ISP-driven goals and support client development.
• Accompany clients on outings and assist with transportation when needed.
• Ensure safety in home and community settings and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain regular communication with the administrative team and complete required documentation.

You’ll assist with daily living activities, implement individualized goals, and foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages growth and independence. Key Responsibilities

Care and Support

• Assist clients with daily tasks such as hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping while encouraging independence
• Implement goals outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
• Foster healthy routines and support client development in line with their abilities and interests

Community Engagement

• Accompany clients on outings, appointments, or errands
• Promote social inclusion by encouraging community interaction and positive relationships
• Provide safe and reliable transportation using your own vehicle

Safety and Communication

• Ensure safety in both home and community settings
• Respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations, including medical or behavioral emergencies
• Maintain regular communication with the administrative team
• Accurately complete all required documentation and reporting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to assist with lifting, bending, walking, and other physical aspects of caregiving
• Capable of handling behavioral challenges and supporting individuals with higher needs

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience as a DSP or in a similar caregiving/support role
• Comfortable supporting individuals with high behavioral needs
• Available to work weekends (required)
• Own reliable transportation for use in transporting clients
• Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance (minimum 100k/300k liability coverage)
• Smartphone with internet access for documentation
• Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
