Safe and Secure Healthcare in Valley View, OH is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will assist in health and hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks, promoting independence and safety.

This in-person role requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Direct care experience welcomed but not required; paid training is provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Medication Certificate(s) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Physically able to lift, assist with mobility, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hygiene, grooming, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Support meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily living tasks.
• Help individuals achieve their personal ISP goals.
• Encourage community involvement and socialization.
• Monitor health, assist with medical appointments, and administer medications as trained.
• Implement positive behavioral strategies.
• Maintain daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Communicate effectively with families and healthcare professionals.
• Respond calmly to urgent situations.

Position Summary

• We are seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP will assist in health and hygiene, community integration, mobility, communication, socialization, and overall quality of life. This role emphasizes promoting independence, safety, and engagement while helping individuals achieve their personal goals.

Please note that all candidates must have a reliable vehicle, as there is no public transportation available in the area.

We are Hiring for the following positions:

Second Shift — 16 hours every weekend

• Friday: 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.

Hiring Overnight Sleep Staff (Med Certification required)

• Friday: 11:00 PM – 10:00 AM
• Saturday: 11:00 PM – 10:00 AM

Weekend Day Staff

• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist with hygiene, grooming, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Independence Building: Support meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily living tasks.
• Goal-Oriented Support: Help individuals achieve personal goals outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
• Social & Recreational Activities: Encourage community involvement and socialization.

• Behavioral Support: Implement positive reinforcement and behavioral strategies.
• Documentation: Maintain daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Emergency Readiness: Respond calmly and appropriately in urgent situations.
