Opengate is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Somers, NY to provide care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This full-time position includes personal hygiene, feeding, and healthcare tasks, with a focus on advocacy and treatment planning.

You will assist with daily living activities, support independence, and participate in recreation. Medications are administered under RN guidance; training is provided, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License in NY/NJ/CT preferred but not required.
• Experience with I/DD population preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including personal hygiene, feeding, and healthcare tasks.
• Advocate for individuals by ensuring access to appropriate services and participating in treatment planning.
• Develop knowledge of behavior management strategies and follow crisis intervention protocols (SCIP), including physical interventions if necessary.
• Assist with daily living activities, household tasks, and recreational programs to support independence and skill development.
• Dispense medications under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and document habilitation services, active treatment, BIR, MIR, and medical charts as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with I/DD population is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License in the Tri-State Area - New York, New Jersey, Connecticut.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.

Essential Job Functions:

$19.25 - $20.25 hourly. Compensation will be commensurate with job qualifications and work experience.
