At Ameriwell Care, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a key role in helping individuals with developmental disabilities live meaningful, self-directed lives. In this position, you will support individuals with everyday activities, build life skills, and encourage active participation in the community.
You’ll work closely with each individual in their home and out in the community, following their personalized service plan to ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with the guidelines of the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities.
Deliver personalized support services in both home and community settings, tailored to each individual’s needs
Assist individuals in building and maintaining everyday life skills such as cooking, personal care, organization, and structured routines
Facilitate participation in community activities, including social outings, errands, and scheduled appointments
Promote personal growth by encouraging independence, confidence, and meaningful social interaction
Maintain a safe and supportive environment by providing appropriate supervision at all times
Complete accurate and timely service documentation using electronic systems, HHA Exchange in compliance with New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities requirements
Collaborate and communicate consistently with families, supervisors, and the care team to ensure high-quality support
