Job summary

Hope Family Partners in Lewiston/Auburn, Maine is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support under MaineCare HCBS.

As a DSP you will assist with ADLs, support community integration, track progress on individual goals, and ensure health and safety. We offer paid training, career growth paths from DSP to House Manager, and a $250 sign-on bonus after 90 days. Shift flexibility and competitive pay between $16.25 and $19.00 per hour apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass Maine background checks.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.
• Ability to complete required Maine HCBS trainings within designated timeframes.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides person-centered, hands-on support to individuals receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) under MaineCare waiver programs.

DSPs play a critical role in helping individuals

• Live safely and independently
• Engage in their communities
• Achieve personal goals

Support is delivered in alignment with

• Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
• Maine DHHS Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) regulations
• HCBS Settings Rule requirements
• Hope Family Partners policies and standards

What You’ll Do

Requirements

Required Qualifications (Maine HCBS)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass Maine DHHS-required background checks
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transporting individuals)
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required
• Ability to complete required Maine HCBS trainings within designated timeframes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
• Knowledge of person-centered planning and HCBS Settings Rule
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with Maine waiver services and documentation standards
• Current DSP certification or ability to attain certification within 90 days of employment

Pay Range
