Job summary

ViaQuest Indianapolis is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes. Training is provided, so no experience is required, and you will join a team that values independence, safety and empowerment.

You will assist with daily living activities, transportation, and community integration, while following care plans and maintaining a safe, respectful home environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and car insurance
• Own vehicle for transport of individuals served
• Can lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities to promote independence, safety and empowerment.
• Collaborating with the team to meet the needs of those served.
• Teaching and assisting individuals in daily living activities.
• Completing household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean safe living environment.

At ViaQuest Community Solutions we provide quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes . As a DSP, Training for this position is provided in its entirety sono experience is required.

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
• Working together as a team to ensure the needs of those served are met.

Requirements for this position include:

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED
• Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
• Valid (Indiana) driver's license and car insurance.
• Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.
• Experience in the field of developmental disabilities or direct care is preferred but not required.
