Easterseals PORT in Castle Hayne, NC is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in their daily living tasks. Your role includes providing personal care, meal preparation, and general support to help clients achieve their goals.

Flexible shifts are available, and on-the-job training will be provided for entry-level candidates. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $15/hour and a range of benefits including an optional retirement plan and employee assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Experience: entry-level, on-the-job training is provided.
• Knowledge: basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Transportation: DSPs must have reliable transportation, driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Monday - Friday, various hours and shifts available
Location: Wilmington, NC (Ogden/Porter's Neck) and surrounding areas with local community travel

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
