Angels of Hope Home Care Agency LLC is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home and community-based support for people with disabilities in Rushville, Indiana. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule of 25 hours per week, with a part-time employment type.

You will assist with daily living activities, encourage independence, and deliver respectful, person-centered care under ISP guidance. CPR/First Aid is preferred or obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Completion of required medication administration training; training can be provided.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to meet required background check and drug screening standards.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and support according to each individual’s ISP.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Prepare meals according to dietary plans and assist with cleaning and laundry.
• Encourage independence and participation in community activities.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities per support plans.
• Administer medications after training and authorization.
• Monitor health and safety concerns and report changes promptly.
• Follow behavioral support plans and use positive strategies.
• Document services, observations, and progress accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, authorized family members, and care team.

About the Role

Angels of Hope Home Care Agency LLC is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living activities, encourage independence, and provide respectful, person-centered care. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule of 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support according to each individual’s Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Prepare meals according to dietary plans and assist with cleaning and laundry.
• Encourage individual choice, independence, and participation in community activities.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities according to their support plans.
• Administer medications after completing required training and authorization, following agency procedures.
• Monitor health and safety concerns and promptly report changes to appropriate staff.
• Follow approved behavioral support plans and use positive support strategies.
• Document services, observations, and progress accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, authorized family members, and care team members.
• Maintain confidentiality and a clean, safe, and supportive environment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to meet required background check and drug screening standards.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete accurate documentation.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Completion of required medication administration training; training can be provided.
• Dependable attendance and availability for the posted schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver, or in a related human services role is preferred. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential is a plus but is not required. Applicants new to direct support are encouraged to apply.
