Job summary

Merrick in Minnesota is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work with clients in a day program, enabling enriching activities and community inclusion. You will support daily living, outings, and vocational rehabilitation for over 400 clients.

The role offers a set Monday–Friday 7:00 am–3:00 pm schedule, with multiple health insurance options, dental/vision, a 403B retirement match, PTO, life insurance for you and your dependents, and wage growth based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to engage in day activities, outings, and community inclusion.
• Be engaged throughout the day with clients in activities or community outings.

• Transfer clients using appropriate body mechanics and assistive equipment.
• Assist with transportation needs including loading and unloading of clients.
• Complete required documentation for assigned clients.

DSP Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to engage in day activities, outings, and community inclusion.
• Be engaged throughout the day with clients in activities or community outings.
• Assist clients in personal care such as toileting, changing briefs, occasionally bathing, feeding, and preparing meals as needed.
• Transfer clients using appropriate body mechanics and assistive equipment.
• Assist in meeting the transportation needs of clients including, assisting in loading, and unloading of clients in a safe and reliable manner.
• Complete required documentation for assigned clients.

DSP Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
