Job summary

Brookville Center for Children's Services seeks a Direct Support Professional to join our Oceanside, NY team. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week at the Oceanside location.

Starting pay is $15.00 per hour, with the potential to earn up to $16.00 as experience grows. The role focuses on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring safety, transportation, and community participation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and must be a QUALIFIED driver.
• AMAP/First Aid/CPR/SCIP-R Training preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities preferred.
• Physical aspects: lifting and transferring of an adult volunteer.
• Transportation/Driving as needed, including wheelchair access.

Responsibilities

• Transports volunteers to and from program site and to community activities.
• Assists volunteers in achieving personal growth and community involvement.
• Ensures safety of volunteers at all locations and between sites.
• Acts as liaison between volunteers and program staff.
