Job summary

Indera is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young man in the Liverpool, NY area. The DSP will help navigate the community, support independent living skills, and encourage participation in new hobbies and activities.

The role requires reliable, energetic and patient individuals with a valid driver's license and a willingness to ensure safety and independence for the client. Previous experience with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.

Responsibilities

• Work with a young man 22 yrs old in the Liverpool, NY area, engaging in activities in the community.
• Assist with navigating around the community and with independent living skills.
• Encourage him to try new hobbies and activities and increase independence.
