Job summary

Anchor Home, a Baltimore County-based human services organization, seeks dedicated Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living and community integration. This role offers meaningful, person-centered service and opportunities in healthcare, psychology, or social work.

You will follow individualized care plans, monitor health, help with meals, medications, appointments, and documentation while supporting a respectful, safe home environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or higher is required.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Maryland CMT license, MANDT certification, and First Aid/CPR certifications required.
• Experience with behavioral plans is preferred but not required.
• Motivated and compassionate to work with clients who have IDD.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, oral care, laundry and housekeeping.
• Assist the Delegating Nurse in prioritizing client needs and responding appropriately.
• Follow the Plan of Care as written by the Delegating Nurse.
• Prepare meals and provide feeding assistance as needed.
• Assist with medication administration according to the care plan and training.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping and community activities.
• Provide mobility, transfer and positioning assistance as needed.
• Monitor and document vital signs and report concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate client, attendance and service documents.
• Complete incident reports and report safety concerns to management.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Follow care plans, company policies and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate client, attendance, and service documentation in required systems.
• Complete incident reports and immediately report incidents or safety concerns to management.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients.
• Maintain emergency food supplies and other household needs as required.
• Follow individual care plans, company policies, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or College Degree
• Non-provisional Driver's License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record
• Active Certifications/Licenses:
• Maryland CMT License
• MANDT Certification
• First Aid and CPR Certifications
• Motivated and passionate to work with clients that have intellectual/developmental disabilities.
