Dungarvin is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support and hands-on instruction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to ensure their health, safety, and progress toward personal goals.

You will enrich residents' lives, provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, prepare meals, and help with mobility and daily routines in a supportive environment. Training and orientation are provided.

Qualifications

• Be 18+ years or older.
• 1 year of caregiving experience (preferred).
• Good communication is key; document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team.

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct support, hands-on instruction, assistance, and positive direction to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of service objectives, and personal goals.
