Job summary

Indera is hiring a 1:1 part-time Direct Support Professional to assist a 19-year-old male in the North Syracuse area with money management, personal hygiene, time management, social interactions, and communication skills.

Ideal candidates are confident, engaged, patient, and strong communicators. The role requires verbal prompts for hygiene, behavior redirection, and regulation support. Hours are 8–10 per week, with a Monday/Thursday schedule, in North Syracuse, NY.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist a 1:1 client with money management, personal hygiene, time management, and social interactions.
• Provide verbal prompts for toileting hygiene and support regulation as needed.
• Demonstrate patience, engage consistently, and reinforce positive communication skills.
• Walk with the client at a comfortable pace and respond quickly to situations.
• May work additional hours with other clients at the agency.

1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – North Syracuse, NY (CA – AB)

A 19-year-old male in the North Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with money management, personal hygiene, time management, interacting politely with others, and increasing his positive communication skills. He enjoys shopping, going out to eat, cooking, science/science projects, crafts, bowling, and theatre.

The ideal candidate is confident, engaging, consistent, patient, and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate must be willing to provide verbal prompts for toileting hygiene, redirect behaviors and responses, and support regulation. The ideal candidate must be comfortable walking at a fast pace, be able to react quickly, and have strong boundaries.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Hours and days of work: 8-10 hours per week. Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00pm-7:00/8:00pm.

Starting pay: Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.
